清华大学、北京大学生命科学联合中心（生命中心）是为了加速我国一流大学建设，在国家支持下，由教育部、科技部、财政部设计、组织，2011年4月，清华大学与北京大学密切配合，按照“统一领导、顶层设计、强强联合、务实发展、动态调整”的原则组建的，是科研和教育体制改革的重大措施。目标是通过改革教育和科研的相关制度，吸引与汇聚热心教育的优秀科学家，以出色的理论教学和尖端的研究并重，培养拔尖创新人才，造就一流的生命科学研究与教育中心。

为促进生命科学发展，探索创新性人才培养模式，生命中心每年利用暑假时间，面向高校本科生，举办暑期夏令营。暑期夏令营将充分发挥生命中心两校联合、师资与科研上的优势，延请国内外知名学者，以激发学生兴趣，培育未来精英为目标，让学生在培训中了解领域内前沿问题，开拓思路，引导创新性的思维习惯。

对生命科学有浓厚兴趣，有志于从事和生命科学相关领域研究的在读本科生（四年制需完成大学一/二年级课程，五年制需完成一/二/三年级课程），均可报名。生命中心将根据专业背景和报名情况，择优录取。
