上海科技大学生命科学与技术学院的设立是以解决人类健康相关的科学问题为宗旨，以打造一所达到国际高水准的研究型学院为目标。学校地处上海浦东新区张江高科技园区，是建设中的张江综合性国家科学中心的重要组成部分，与张江实验室、上海同步辐射光源、国家蛋白质科学研究（上海）设施等国家级科研机构和大科学设施融为一体，与张江高新区的产业界、投资界有机衔接。被誉为中国“药谷”的张江科学城，聚集了大量国内外医药研发企业，利用张江地区的多学科研究力量和生物医药研发优势，学院致力于培养适应未来生命科学发展的高端研究人才、适应生物技术行业快速扩张的优秀创业人才、以及满足健康医学需求的新型技术人才，助力建设上海张江综合性国家科学中心。欢迎有志于生命科学研究，尤其是人类健康相关领域科学研究的年轻学子到我院攻读研究生。

上海科技大学采用国际通行的常任教授制度（Tenure track system），截止到2025年3月，我院已拥有一支以82名常任教授为主体的教师队伍（均为研究员、博士生导师），常任教授95%以上具有海外一流高校博士或博士后经历，形成一支以青年优秀人才为主力、资深教授为核心的学术人才梯队。我院另有院所特聘教授10名，中科院单位特聘教授58名。七家中科院单位分别为生物化学与细胞生物学研究所（分子细胞科学卓越创新中心）、神经科学研究所（脑科学与智能技术卓越创新中心）、上海营养与健康研究所、上海巴斯德研究所、上海药物研究所、植物生理生态研究所（分子植物科学卓越创新中心）、上海高等研究院。自2019年起，我院研究生报名、复试、录取等全部招生环节由学院统一完成。目前，拟录为学术型硕士研究生的同学入学后，在学院常任和特聘教授（含中科院特聘、海外特聘）范围内进行3-4轮轮转，轮转后师生互选，确定导师；研二下学期可申请参加硕转博考核，通过后转为博士研究生培养，未通过者按硕士研究生培养。拟录为专业型硕士研究生的同学不参与轮转，一般在入学前经师生互选后确定导师。

上海科技大学生命学院2025年7月份将举办大学生暑期班和夏令营活动，其中暑期班活动为期<strong style="box-sizing: border-box;"><span style="color: rgb(255, 129, 36); box-sizing: border-box;">12天左右</span></strong>（暂定<strong style="box-sizing: border-box;"><span style="color: rgb(255, 129, 36); box-sizing: border-box;">6月30日-7月12日</span></strong>，已包含第一天报到与最后一天离营）；夏令营活动举办2期，每期3-4天（<strong style="box-sizing: border-box;"><span style="color: rgb(255, 129, 36); box-sizing: border-box;">暂定第一期6月30日-7月3日；第二期7月7-10日</span></strong>，已包含第一天报到与最后一天离营）(实际活动时间请以入营通知为准)。暑期班和夏令营活动为热爱生命科学的相关专业本科生提供良好的交流平台，增加本科生对免疫与代谢、神经科学、生物与医药、结构生物学、分子和细胞、生命组学、发育与再生等生命科学前沿研究领域的了解，激发本科生的科研热情和兴趣。活动将组织安排营员参观校园，到生命学院、iHuman研究所、免疫化学研究所的课题组，与导师、研究生面对面交流。还会组织参观重大科研设施、学校图书馆、体育馆，体验用餐、运动等便利的生活设施，营员可以实地感受上科大研究生的学习、生活环境。
