<span leaf="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">中国科学院沈阳应用生态研究所(前身中国科学院林业土壤研究所)成立于1954年，是以林业、农业、环境科学为基础的综合性应用生态学研究机构。研究所面向国家生态文明建设的重大战略需求——围绕现代农林业可持续发展和生态环境建设中亟需解决的重大科技问题, 结合应用生态学发展需要, 在森林生态与林业生态工程、土壤生态与农业生态工程、污染生态与环境生态工程领域, 开展基础性-战略性-前瞻性研究, 完善和创新应用生态学理论、方法和技术体系; 聚焦退化生态系统恢复-重建与生态安全, 黑土保护-利用与粮食安全, 污染环境治理-改善与低碳绿色发展; 为东北工农业现代化和新型城镇化提供生态与环境保障, 为实现碳中和-两山论-绿色发展等生态文明建设目标提供科技支撑。现有中国工程院院士1人，国家杰出青年基金获得者2人，国家优秀青年基金获得者12人。</span>

<span leaf="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">研究所现有森林生态与林业生态工程、土壤生态与农业生态工程、污染生态与环境生态工程3个研究中心、11个创新组群、1个森林生态与保育重点实验室（中国科学院）、1个国地联合实验室、11个省级实验室和专业技术创新中心。研究所在不同地带、不同类型地区建有12个野外站，包括4个国家站(同为院CERN站)、1个院级站、3个所级站和4个与国家林草局共建站。研究所还拥有东北地区最大的生物标本馆以及被誉为“大城市中小森林”之称的沈阳树木园。</span>
