<span leaf="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">科研所成立于1979年，是国家卫生健康委直属的社会公益性科研机构，主要从事人类生殖与健康领域多学科、综合性科学技术研究。面向人类生殖与健康，持续开展生育力保护、出生缺陷防治和妇女儿童健康保障关键基础和共性技术研发运用；积极开展人类生殖与健康前沿基础研究、应用研究和开发研究，从传统生物医学向生物材料、再生医学、组织工程、基因编辑等新兴生命科学领域拓展，通过科技创新活动，服务国家人口长期均衡发展和卫生健康事业的战略目标及重点任务。</span>

<span leaf="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">科研所主持和参与多项国家重点研发计划、国家自然科学基金、北京自然基金、其他省部级课题以及“一带一路”国际合作项目，取得了重要的创新成果；顺利实施国家人类遗传资源共享服务平台专项，促进我国人类遗传资源的跨库、跨域开放共享与创新利用。作为全国首批40家赋予科研人员职务科技成果所有权和长期使用权的改革试点单位之一，科技成果转化取得了重要进展。</span>
