英国伯明翰大学工程学院Yueting Sun课题组招收博士生(力学、材料等方向) PhD Opportunities in Mechanics and Materialsat the University of Birmingham (Yueting Sun Group in the School ofEngineering) Dr Yueting Sun received hisBachelor in Automotive Engineering and Bachelor in Economics from TsinghuaUniversity in 2010, followed by a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from TsinghuaUniversity in 2015. He visited the University of California, San Diego from 2013to 2014, and held the KC Wong Fellowship at the University of Oxford from 2016to 2018. He moved from Oxford to Birmingham in Dec 2019 and became a Lecturerin Engineering. Dr Sun has a broad interestin the field of mechanics of materials. His group performs cross-disciplinaryresearch to design materials and systems at the nano/micro-scale forunprecedented engineering performances. Recent research topics involve impactmechanics and energy conversion leveraging the nanofluidics in highly porousmaterials such as Metal-organic Frameworks (MOFs). The group is seekingmotivated PhD students with a background in mechanical engineering, materialscience, physics, chemistry, or in a closely related field. Candidates withinterests in (but not limited to) one or more of the following areas areparticularly encouraged to apply: · Material properties under high strain rate deformation; · Energy absorption and protection against impact, vibration and blast; · Nanoporous materials, including MOFs, zeolites, and silica; · Nanofluidics and microfluidics; · Micromechanics and applications of nano-architected materials; · Vehicle safety and traffic accidents. Prospective applicantsshould contact Dr Sun to discuss possible projects and funding opportunitiesvia email ( y.sun.9@bham.ac.uk). Please include a CV(with the contacts of two referees) and a brief letter of motivation, and usethe subject line “Application for PhD Position”.
